Newgrounds: it's been quite awhile.

Posted by AtomicAgeVampire138 - July 20th, 2007

It's strange to watch the evolution of a site, especially a site that has run as long as Newgrounds.com has. I've gone through times of visiting the site daily, voting on numerous new entries to try & raise my overall participation and protection/blam scores and as well as periods of forgetting the internet existed for months at a time (which I won't lie, are usually much better times for me). I suppose, watching Newgrounds grow can be compared to seeing a friend whom you see every few months at a time, realizing that they've changed/grown a great deal, galavant about with them for awhile, move on again, and find one another time.

I suppose life likes these changes as well as keeping a few things static. It is certainly a strange experience going from talking to my friends in 7th or 8th grade about a website that lets you kill celebrities, to now, almost having my B.S. in Psychology and still being amused by these same gags almost 8 years later while my other friends have long since moved on to trying to "mature" and are looking to marry and other such mistakes.

I would think about making this post "front page", but I already feel like many people would assume I am a jerk off who is either a) bragging about how much more seniority he has over everyone else (who, by the way, probably have way more points than I do) or b) kind of over-romanticizing Newgrounds. In the end, it'd be c) I am merely surprised that Newgrounds has rebirthed itself as a completely new site. For God's sake, I am writing a journal here! I would've never thought I'd see the day. I assume it's all pedophiles picking up tweens and sex chats from here.
